In ordered to verify the claims of Vassilatos I looked to the article On the Dissipation of Electrical Energy of the Hertz Resonator by Nikola Tesla which is said ( By Vassilatos ) to be the source of Teslas claims on Luminoua Aether. To verify we must check the following specific claims made.
Direct Claims
-"Tesla abandons research and developments of high frequency alternating current. Divorcing himself from that field entirely"
- "abruptly charged wires in his experiment projected a strange gaseous stream when immersed in an oil bath"
- "Tesla describes the shield-permeating shock as "sound waves of electrified air""
- "makes remarkable statements concerning the sound, heat, light, pressure, and shock which he sensed passing directly through the copper plates"
-"able to produce streams...in oil which so powerfully projected from charged wire ends they they visibly depressed the oil into a hole, some two inches in depth"
Claims Verified
-Tesla does describe the shield-permeating shock as "ordinary sound-waves only because the air is electrified...These waves cannot be entirely stopped by the interposition of an insulated metal plate."
-"if a pointed metal bar is taken in the hand and held with a point close to the oil, a hole two inches deep is formed in the oil by molecules of the air, which are violently project from the point."
Claims Not Verified
-Tesla most certainly did not completely abandon his work with alternating currents. Nearly are year later, "With high frequencies, Tesla developed some of the first neon and fluorescent illumination."
-Tesla does not mention "copper plates", but he does say "insulated metal plate"
-The wire immersed in the oil bath with Tesla refers to is know today as a Tesla Coil. In fact, he does not even mention gas to leave the wire, but it is the "air above the oil which is agitated and causes the motion of the latter". This also shows he was still working with alternating currents, which a Tesla Coil typically runs with.
-Tesla does not make "remarkable statements" concerning the waves passing through plates
Conclusion
A lot of what Vassilatos said was fabricated. Truthfully, I was not even expecting there to be any mention of any noticeable waves that could be felt. I was incorrect in this thought, but the waves did not bring any "stinging effect" or even any pain. Of course, Vassilatos claims "characteristic understatements", but this seems to cover his lies. The waves that could be felt where at a distance of around 6 feet, maybe more according to Tesla but this in no way can be compared to the vast distance Vassilatos said.
Moving on to the statements that were verified, there is still some questions regarding them. To begin with, Tesla's description of these shock wave are very bland. The most descriptive passage of them was "sound waves of electrified air". This seems to literally mean either sound waves in some kind of electric field, or which I tend to believe more, some kind of compression of air caused by electrical forces which act like longitudinal waves, or sound waves.
This is very important to understand, but Tesla does not exactly clarify. He does give a valuable example:
"if a pointed metal bar is taken in the hand and held with a point close to the oil, a hole two inches deep is formed in the oil by molecules of the air, which are violently project from the point"
While this statement was in the verified section, it actually discredits Vassilatos. I have learned in the future that what I look for must be more specifically stated. This can be explained by quoting Vassilatos to a greater extent:
"Indeed, he was able to produce streams of this kind in oil which so powerfully project from charged wire ends that they visibly depressed the oil into a hole, some two inches in depth! Tesla began to realize the true nature of the fine issuing "gas" which projected from wire ends immersed in oil"
Tesla never mentioned gas leaving wires while in oil. Tesla mentioned a wire depressing the oil while held by a hand, and the depressing was done by air, not some "fine issuing " gas" ". This last quote does not even make sense. How can something in a liquid, depress that liquid by issuing streams of gas? Vassilatos account is full of typos, and fabrications.
I have found one other source which claimed the discovery similar to this, but it was described as "longitudinal vibrations structured much like sound waves". I hope that I will one day be able to recreate these vibration but I no longer am sure if I will continue my research into this account. I have thoroughly show great problems with Secrets of Cold War Technology. Whether is was the authors fault, the publishing company, or both, the problems still remain. I need to find a creditable source of information before I can move forward.
